Dr. Parker Urges RSUTH Staff to Strive for Excellence

The Chairman governing board of the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital (RSUTH), Dr Sampson Parker has urged every staff and stakeholder to build a teaching hospital where excellence is not an aspiration but a way of life.

Dr Parker who made this known during the inaugural board meeting of the University Teaching Hospital said every stakeholder should see themselves as custodians of the vision and shape the future of healthcare in Rivers State, and leave a legacy that will outlive them.

He further advised them never to allow any patient walk through the gates of the hospital and feel neglected, noting that management and staff should uphold the highest standards of medical ethics, patient care, and a relentless pursuit of efficiency.

The Chairman governing board of the State owned Teaching Hospital stated that the hospital is not merely a cluster of wards, clinics, and laboratories, but a sanctuary of healing, a place where lives are saved, where families find hope, and where citizens look for compassion and competence

Dr. Parker, a seasoned healthcare professional a nd former Commissioner of Health in the state, brings with him a track record of impactful reforms and dedicated public service. His leadership is widely expected to usher in renewed progress and innovation at RSUTH.

Stakeholders in the health sector have hailed the appointment and composition of the RSUTH governing board as a strategic and beneficial move that will bring positive transformation to the institution.
