Late Ruth’s Husband Accuses Phyna of Family Intrusion

Ruth Otabor and Husband

The husband of the late Ruth Otabor, Daniel Adebo, has broken his silence for the first time, publicly accusing his sister-in-law and Big Brother Naija winner, Ijeoma Josephina Otabor, widely known as Phyna, of hindering his access to his wife before her tragic death. The controversy, which comes after Ruth Otabor was crushed by a Dangote truck 19 days ago, has ignited a social media storm with mixed reactions.

In a statement, Daniel Adebo revealed that his silence in the aftermath of the accident was a deliberate decision. He explained that he deliberately chose not to respond when Phyna publicly labelled him “irresponsible,” stating his primary concern was his wife’s recovery. According to Adebo, he did not want to cause any drama that would add to his wife’s stress as she was fighting for her life in the hospital. The grieving husband maintained that his silence was not a sign of weakness but a conscious effort to protect his wife from unnecessary emotional turmoil.

However, Adebo went on to make a startling accusation, alleging that despite being legally married to Ruth, he was denied unhindered access to his wife while she was receiving treatment in Lagos. He claimed family members had informed him that he had to obtain Phyna’s permission before he would be allowed to see his wife. Adebo stated he has records of all the chats and messages he sent to the family to support his claims. The report has it that his outburst has now stirred significant controversy as he described Phyna as a “snake and witch,” accusing her of interfering in his marriage and complicating matters during his wife’s illness.

The unfolding family drama has ignited a heated debate on social media. While some users are expressing sympathy for Adebo and criticising the reality star for allegedly taking over family decisions, others are urging caution. They argue that Phyna deserves a chance to present her side of the story before judgment is passed. The tragic death of Ruth Otabor, which has already been a source of grief for the family, has now become a public spectacle, with a complex family dispute playing out in the public eye. The public awaits a statement from Phyna to clarify the accusations made against her and provide her own account of the events that transpired.
