Fubara Extols Wike’s Honorary Degree from UNIPORT

The suspended Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, has lauded the conferment of an honorary Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) Honoris Causa upon the FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, by the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT).

Fubara described the honour bestowed during UNIPORT’s 35th Convocation Ceremony and 50th Anniversary Celebration as both fitting and justly earned, acknowledging Wike’s extensive record of public service.

In a statement released on Saturday, Governor Fubara, speaking on behalf of his family and the people of Rivers State, extended warm congratulations to his predecessor.

He characterised Wike as a “transformational and visionary leader” whose governmental achievements and developmental initiatives continue to significantly influence Nigeria’s trajectory.

He further emphasised that Wike’s dedicated work has positively impacted countless lives and rekindled belief in leadership.

Fubara noted the appropriateness of the recognition coming from Wike’s alma mater, stating, “It is only fitting that your alma mater honours you for your outstanding dedication and the strategic role you continue to play in shaping Nigeria’s future.”

Expressing profound pride in Wike’s achievement, Fubara conveyed his congratulations to the Minister, along with wishes for even greater success in the years ahead.
