Reconciliation in Rivers State: A Step in the Right Direction, Says Public Affairs Analyst

A Public affairs analyst, Chief Festus Ogwuchie, has welcomed the reconciliation efforts by President Tinubu between the suspended Governor Fubara, FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike and the suspended lawmakers in Rivers State.
He described it as a positive development if carried out in accordance with the law and involving the people of the state.

Chief Ogwuchie, who made this known in an interview with our correspondent, said the declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State has had far-reaching negative consequences for the people, and it is essential that power is returned to the people.

He also expressed concerns about the manner in which elections are conducted in the state, stating that it poses a threat to the country’s democratic system.

Chief Ogwuchie emphasised that the reconciliation process should not be limited to Governor Fubara and the FCT Minister but should involve the people of Rivers State to ensure that their interests are represented to help to restore peace and stability in the state.
