Rivers United FC Interested in Signing Super Eagles Left-Back

As reported by BSNSports, it has been stated that Rivers United is poised to acquire the services of Super Eagles left-back, Imo Obot, in anticipation of the forthcoming season.

Obot is expected to reunite with Finidi George at Rivers United after concluding his tenure with Enyimba.

The Pride of Rivers, who finished second to league champions Remo Stars in the recently concluded NPFL season, will participate in the CAF Champions League.

On Monday, the club commenced preparations for the new season under the direction of its Technical Adviser, with 25 players present.

In this regard, Rivers United coach Finidi George has motivated his players in advance of the new campaign, as the Port Harcourt-based team initiated preparations for the 2025/26 season, according to the report.

The 2022 Nigeria Premier Football League champions began their training on Monday in preparation for both their domestic and CAF Champions League endeavours.

According to updates from the club’s media, 25 players were present at the inaugural training session held at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium on Monday.

“Rivers United Football Club of Port Harcourt has officially commenced preparations for the new season, marking a crucial step towards enhancing their remarkable performance in the 2024/2025 football season,” the club stated in an announcement.

“I extend a warm welcome back from the offseason break. It is now time to prepare ourselves adequately for the challenges that lie ahead. Welcome back,” the coach conveyed through the club’s statement.
