The traditional ruler, who described the people of Rumuolumeni community as very peaceful, blamed the former governing Council of the University for not carrying the community along in the last employment exercise conducted in the institution.
“A situation where no consideration was given to the host community by the government council, so when people see some level of injustice and marginalization it is normal that they will speak out, that is what the youth of Rumuolumeni have done today they spoke out, concerning their displeasure over how the community was treated” he stated.
While emphasising that less than one percent of the employment quota was given to the community in the last employment exercise conducted by the university, Eze Orlumeni said the protest by the youths was prompted by the non-response of government to concerns raised by the community over the issue.
