In commemoration of the 8th United Nations Global Road Safety Week, the Federal Road Safety Corps FRSC, Rivers State Command has urged all road users to prioritize safety and work together to reduce the incidence of road crashes.
The Sector Commander, Rivers state Command, Inyang E Umoh, during a press briefing in Port Harcourt said the week was aimed at promoting road safety and reducing accidents on Rivers State roads.

The Sector Commander outlined the activities lined up for the week-long events, which include enlightenment campaigns to take road safety messages to every part of the state. He emphasized that the campaigns are geared towards promoting a culture of safety among road users.

The FRSC also called on stakeholders to collaborate in redesigning road systems that prioritize safety and accessibility for non-motorized transport. The theme of this year’s event is “Streets for Safe, Make Walking Safe, Make Cycling Safe”, FRSC noted that walking and cycling are essential for public health and should be encouraged.
