Beyond Wands And Flying Objects: A True Narrative of Witches

By: Emmanuel Prince

A contemporary African feels that witches are blood sucking demons, whose desire daily is to see to it that no one related to them succeeds or dare to become anything and they are correct. One of the things that everyone can conveniently agree exists is witchcraft and sorcery. The majority of people from other continents may hold a different view as to how these things operate due to societal norms over there, having been drilled to reason and react to things.

They believe these witches hate success, not because they desire to be the best. Still, they enjoy it when people, families, communities, states, and countries remain in perpetual annihilation, just so that they can acquire more power from their master, the devil, to deliver a broader scope of wickedness, wickedness that only comes with emotional satisfaction and nothing tangible to show as physical progress.

If you do not believe in the supernatural or have nightmares whenever you think about scary subjects, you may want to stop reading now. We are about to explore stories based on real-life experiences that only those with keen discernment or who have had firsthand encounters may find believable, as they might seem unreal.

A man of God, Archbishop Benson Idahosa, of blessed memory, once shared a story about how God instructed him to pray at a specific junction in his community in Benin, Edo State. He was to pray there every midnight until daybreak when he started his ministry.

This junction was unique because it was a junction where four roads met, and was more distinct because it was a popular site for ritual sacrifices.

He said that he started praying, and each night, it felt as if a presence was watching him because occasionally his head would swell out of fear (if you’ve experienced intense fear before, then you should understand), but he would summon courage and continue praying.

The Bishop recounted an event that occurred on the last day of the prayer session. He described how, when he arrived to pray, he noticed that people had already come to offer sacrifices. However, what caught his attention was a particular sacrifice that had a piece of paper with his name on it and a clear instruction stating that he should be killed. Instead of succumbing to fear, he gathered his courage, kicked the sacrifice with his foot, and concluded the prayers that night. Following this, a remarkable series of events unfolded: individuals who were known as leaders of witch covens and top-ranked occult practitioners began to die mysteriously, one after the other, until all those considered powerful were no more. If you live in Edo State and are not a Gen Z, you would know the story, as many people in Edo State can attest to it.

Let me share another story with you. There was a young man named Udeme who told me that many years ago, while he was in primary school in the village, he heard news about a wizard who was caught in an area between Afot Junction and Bishop Clark Secondary School in Abak, Akwa Ibom State.

Udeme said that he went to see for himself and get the full gist, that on getting there, he saw a young man who appeared to be an imbecile because the young man was unable to speak correctly.

A mechanic reported hearing a sound that resembled a stone rolling on the roof early one morning, around 4 a.m. Curious, he went outside to investigate who was throwing stones and was astonished to see a man emerging from the ground at the very spot where the stone had landed. He quickly rushed over, grabbed the naked man, and called for his neighbors to come and see. They gathered around and began questioning the man, eventually deciding to place him in a shallow pit in front of the compound so that anyone passing by could witness the unusual situation for themselves.

Udeme shared with me that while he was there, another person claimed to know the man in the pit. The person was surprised at how the man had ended up in that location, as their community was in a different local government area. He mentioned that the naked man was unable to move around without physical assistance due to his mental incapacitation.

Udeme told me that while he was staying in the village, he had a strange experience one night. He was alone in his room and felt sleepy. Suddenly, he thought that NEPA had restored the electricity, so he opened his eyes and jumped up in excitement. To his disappointment, the room was still dark. He lay back down and eventually fell asleep.

The next day, when he woke up, he noticed little cut marks on his stomach, as if someone had used a razor blade to make them. He went to the back of his house to explain what had happened to an elderly woman. She told him that it was the work of “Uben.”(Uben is a name for night flyers, people who fly at night and suck human blood) Udeme realized that the light he saw was a trick to confirm his awareness. It emitted a certain light or exhibited unusual behavior to determine if the person was asleep.

Udeme shared an intriguing experience with me. He recounted that when he gained admission to study engineering at Bori Polytechnic, he had a trance on the first day of his arrival. During this trance, he saw the caretaker of his compound effortlessly break the padlock that secured the house protector where he and another person were sleeping., that as the man made his way into the house he started flogging the other boy on his private part with a cane and continued flogging him till he (Udeme) got fed up and asked the caretaker, what the boy had done to him to deserve such flogging? The caretaker was startled because scarcely could someone see them in that form, so he tiptoed and left the house before Udeme woke up and saw that it was past midnight already.

In the morning, Udeme told the boy who was flogged to call his mother to pray for him, which he did, but a few months later, the young man developed mental issues. Can you believe it?

Udeme recounted that while he was still in school, he met a girl who possessed a natural gift of discernment. She had the ability to see what was invisible to the physical eye and could tell when someone was lying based on their words. Although he believed he had experienced everything when he encountered the caretaker, meeting this girl truly opened a new spiritual chapter in his life.

He said that he never told her about the caretaker neither did he tell her about the trance but on one faithful day, he, she and a neighbor of his were in his room when she told them that the caretaker and his colleague were just outside his doorpost and were listening to their conversation, though they were in their spiritual form, he said that he was in disbelief until she said that they should listen, that the caretaker and his wizard colleague were moving to the back of the compound, where a gate demarcated the compound where they lived from another, and while she said “they are passing the gate now,” the gate shook, this gate was at the back of the compound and there was no way it was planned because no student would be awake to partake in such a joke at such an ungodly hour, because this was happening between 12 am-1am and it was impossible for anyone to be using that gate at that time as the gate was usually locked all day and restricted, so it was then that his belief in witchcraft gained more height.

At the beginning of this write-up, I shared a story of someone who was caught in the act of witchcraft and paraded. There is a video online showing a young lady sitting down, appearing to be in pain, as there were bruises on her face. She was caught by guard dogs in a particular compound at night, and many questioned how she gained access to the compound or how she managed to even walk because physically, she looked incapacitated.
The closest answer to what transpired is that she got there by teleportation, an act commonly used by witches.

If you doubt this, ask yourself, how a crippled girl with a walking and speech impediment could make her way into a fenced compound where security dogs were loosed without any sort of aid?

Who could have been that wicked to lead her to such a place, knowing fully well that she was not physically self-dependent?

After reading all I have written, the choice of whether to believe or not lies with you, but those who have experienced or witnessed this firsthand can attest to the authenticity of what has been shared.
