Gunmen Kill Chief Security Officer, Son in Rivers State; Police Launch Investigation

The Rivers State Police Command has launched an investigation into the brutal murder of a 59-year-old Chief Security Officer (CSO) and his son by unknown gunmen.

The tragic incident occurred on January 31, 2025, at about 11:40 p.m. at the Adokiye Amiesimaka International Stadium, Omagwa, Port Harcourt. The victims, identified as Timothy and his first son, were ambushed and shot in the head by four unidentified assailants.

According to a report filed by Timothy’s daughter, Omolara, the attackers struck without warning, leaving her father and brother fatally wounded.

The Igwuruta Division of the Rivers State Police Command responded swiftly to the scene, recovering three expended AK-47 cartridges. Despite being rushed to the hospital, the victims were pronounced dead by the attending doctor.

The Commissioner of Police, Rivers State, has ordered a full-scale manhunt for the perpetrators, deploying intelligence and tactical units to track down the killers and ensure justice is served.

The Rivers State Police Command reassures residents of its commitment to tackling crime and maintaining security across the state.
