Burna Boy Confesses To Having PTSD

Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy has addressed the controversy surrounding his unexpected departure from the stage during the #GreaterLagosCountdown2025 event.

The incident occurred after a fan jumped on stage uninvited, prompting criticism and divided opinions among attendees and social media users.

In a series of posts on his Instagram Stories on Wednesday, Burna Boy explained the circumstances leading to his exit. “It was a free show. I was supposed to do 10 minutes and did almost an hour,” he clarified, addressing the concerns over the brevity of his performance.

The artist expressed frustration at the fan’s actions, reiterating his well-known rule against being startled while performing. “Everybody knows my rule about getting on stage and startling me when I’m performing. I had an amazing time with Lagos State last night,” he wrote.

Burna Boy also made emphasis on the importance of respecting his boundaries, referencing a personal struggle. “Don’t jump on my stage like that! I got PTSD. I love you all. Happy New Year,” he concluded.

The incident unfolded during the highly anticipated event in Lagos when a fan stormed the stage mid-performance.

Security swiftly intervened, removing the individual, but Burna Boy paused his set and ultimately left the stage without providing further explanation. This move left many attendees stunned and sparked a heated debate online.
