Rivers State Commissioner of Police Rewards Outstanding Officers

The Rivers State Police Command has honored officers who have exhibited exceptional dedication and professionalism in their service.

At a commendation ceremony held on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at the Police Officers’ Mess in Port Harcourt, the Commissioner of Police, CP Mustapha Mohammed Bala, presented awards to deserving officers for their outstanding contributions to enhancing security in the state.

Among the recipients were CSP Julian Wealth Igbudu, Commander of the C4i Strike Force, and Inspector Blessing Ozii, attached to the Abali Police Division.

CSP Julian Igbudu was recognized for his exemplary leadership in the arrest of a suspected kidnapper. The operation also led to the recovery of two serviceable pistols and thirty rounds of ammunition, showcasing his tactical precision and commitment to maintaining law and order in the state.

Inspector Blessing Ozii received accolades for her intelligence and diligence, which resulted in the arrest of a notorious kidnap kingpin, Idris Abdullahi. Her efforts dismantled a dangerous criminal network and led to the recovery of ₦2.5 million. For her exceptional performance, she was awarded the Commissioner’s Commendation Award and a monetary reward.

The ceremony was attended by senior officers, including the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Finance and Administration), DCP Samuel Erale Etaifo, Assistant Commissioners of Police, Divisional Police Officers, Tactical Team Commanders, and Heads of Departments.

In his address, CP Mustapha Mohammed Bala emphasized the importance of recognizing exceptional service, stating, “This recognition underscores our commitment to supporting and empowering officers who go above and beyond in fulfilling their responsibilities. By rewarding exceptional service, we aim to inspire others within the command to strive for excellence.”

The Command reaffirmed its commitment to fostering security and encouraging professionalism among its personnel. The recognition of CSP Igbudu and Inspector Ozii highlights the critical role of effective policing in safeguarding lives and property and the significance of rewarding excellence within the force.
