To improve the healthcare delivery system in the state, the acting Executive Secretary of the Rivers State Contributory Health Protection Programme (RIVCHPP), Dr. Vetty Agala, partners with a state-owned hospital.

This collaboration aims to achieve the vision of Governor Siminalayi Fubara in accessing quality healthcare services among Rivers people at an affordable rate.

Moreso, she noted that this development was to create a sustainable health system that prioritises the welfare of citizens and fosters a healthier future for all.

She acknowledged that the initiative provides benefits with the approval to support both primary and secondary level care.

Dr. Agala explained the necessity of collaborating to implement effective strategies that will drive the agenda of RIVCHPP.

Responding to RIVCHPP Secretary, the Chief Medical Director of RSUTH, Prof. Chizindu A. Alikor, stressed on the importance of promoting accessible health services, noting that the initiative will promote preventive health measures and enhance the overall well-being of Rivers People.

Prof. Alikor thanked the representative of RIVCHPP, Governor Fubara, and the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Adaeze Oreh, for this initiative.

“This partnership is expected to significantly contribute to the vision of a healthier Rivers State, ensuring that healthcare services for beneficiaries are funded from a common pool of resources.”
