Woji youth demands justice for murder of Nyebuchi by police officers

Youth of Woji community in Obio/Akpor local government area of Rivers State, has demand for justice over alleged gruesome murder of one Kenneth Nyebuchi Eke, by police officers attached to surveillance team.

The youths in protest demand that the officers who committed the act should be made to face the law.

President of the Woji Youth Association, Kingsley Worlu-Chioma, condemned the gruesome murder of one of its vibrant youths in the community, he described the deceased as a peace-loving soul who lived a private life.

According to him, the incident that led to the untimely death of Kenneth Nyebuchi Eke, in the hands of police officers and their cohorts is questionable, barbaric dehumanizing, and inhuman to speak about.

He further called on the Inspector General of Police, Commissioner of Police, Rivers state government, Civil Society Organisations, and other relevant bodies to swiftly intervene in the matter for immediate investigation that would ensure the perpetrators of the act are brought to book.

Our Correspondent gathered that a tenant of the deceased invited Police officers after the tenant was forcefully evicted by the deceased who is landlord to the tenant on 17 November, 2023.

It was also gathered that the body of the deceased was recovered in Choco-cho in Etche local government area of Rivers State, in an uncompleted building in a manner that indicates the decease Nyebuche Eke was tortured to death by the police officers attached to the surveillance team.

According to our Correspondent, the tenant who is from Ogoni, and the officers involved in the alleged act have been arrested and detained at the State CID in Port Harcourt.
