Man stabs half brother to death in Igwuruta

Tragedy struck on Tuesday, May 23rd, 2023 at Igwuruta Community in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, where a man named Henry Enyi Ebom stabbed his half-brother, Chikadibia Ebom Worlu to death.

Our correspondent, who visited, Umu-Eke village in the Igwuruta community, where the incident took place, reports that many people were seen gathered at the family compound, in groups, discussing and sobering over the incident.

In an interview, Favour Chikadibia, wife of the slain Chikadibia Ebom Worlu, explained that her husband’s brother, Henry Ebom Worlu had long been threatening to kill her husband and other members of the family.

The mother of three children demanded for justice to prevail over the murder of her husband, Chikadibia Ebom Worlu.

Also speaking, a member of the EBOM family, Christian Chigbo Ebom Worlu described the incident as unfortunate and a slap on the family.

Worlu noted that the incident was a taboo, which had happened in the history of the family and community.

He lamented the negative effect the incident may cause on their family.

He also wants the alleged murderer, Henry Ebom Worlu to face the consequences of his action.

Worlu appealed to Governor Nyesom Wike, Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Council, Samuel Nwanosike, Inspector General of Police, IGP, and the State Commissioner of Police, CP Effiong Okon to bring the culprit to justice.

Meanwhile, the Rivers State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of Henry Enyi Ebom.

The spokesperson of the Rivers State Police Command, Grace Iringe-Koko confirmed the incident and said the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigations Department, SCID for a discreet investigation and possible prosecution.

She assured that the Police will ensure justice is served in the matter.
