Former Community Development Committee Chairman of Uegwere Boue Community in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State, Ipianeh Godspower has accused security agents of aiding criminals to perpetrate crimes in Ogoniland.

The ex CDC chairman and one time operative of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps made the revelation to our correspondent and wondered why no matter how security personnel go after nefarious criminals, they don’t make any arrest.

Godspower said, “the security agents in Ogoniland are having romance with the criminals in the area and that is why crimes keep increasing in Ogoniland.

He said, “security agents do pretend to be chasing the criminals and at the end of the day, no arrest wll be made.

“I can tell you with certainty that the Khana Security Planning Advisory Committee (KHASPAC) which was set up by the Khana council authority at the instance of the security agencies in Ogoniland has a lot of cultists and kidnappers on it as members.

“The security agents know these criminals and yet allowed them to be members of the LGA security outfit.”

Meanwhile, over 90 percent villagers have returned home, following the seemingly return of peace in Uegwere Boue Community.

The villagers were sacked from their community by gang violence, leading to the death of countless community dwellers.

The returnees who took refuge in Bori, the traditional headquarters of Khana LGA told our correspondent that life was unbearable for them outside home.
