Asari Dokubo denies statement credited to him, describes Wike as a ‘mad man’

Igbo artisans reject Asari's Biafra declaration, calls him betrayal

Former Niger Delta agitator, Asari Dokubo has described a controversial statement ascribed to him as false.

He said that the false statement attributed to him has excited the “ass-lickers of Wike” who have launched verbal assaults on him.

Describing it as idiotic, he said that the said statement credited to him was a poor job by the Nnamdi Kanu-led Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB to hit his head and that of Ikwerre People.

The statement quoted Dokubo as saying “Nyesom Wike is an Igbo man claiming not to be Igbo just to deceive Ijaws and other ethnic minorities in Rivers State.

“Nyesom Wike is claiming to be a Niger Deltan even when Ikwerre doesn’t have a drop of oil in their land.

“Even his fellow Igbo communities like Obigbo, Etche, Ndoni, Omoku, Andoni, Egbema, Ahoada, Ogba and Oguta produce oil except the so-called Ikwerre.

“Ikwerre is only community in Rivers State that doesn’t produce oil but they keep ruling Rivers State.

“Ikwerre is Fulani of Rivers State because they produce nothing but benefit everything.

“Nyesom Wike is developing only Ikwerre land without developing oil-producing communities.

“He should develop oil-producing communities that have what makes Rivers State great.”

But Dokubo in a video posted on social media said he could not have said what was written in the post, because Andoni is not Igbo.

He said that being a former President Ijaw Youth Council, he knows that Andonis are Ijaws. He added that he does not refer to Fulanis as Fulanis but Gambaris from Funta Jalon.

On the claim in the statement that Ikwerre does not have oil but keep ruling the state, he said that Ikwerre has oil and only two Ikwerre people have ruled the state.

Speaking further, he said that the false statement was meant to pitch him against Wike, adding that he and the governor are already along parallel lines.

He also said that he is an Ikwerre man and cannot talk down on Ikwerre people.

He railed on Governor Nyesom Wike, saying only a mad man can do what he is doing in the state.

He said: “Wike is not even developing any oil-producing community in Ikwerre land.

“They are not affected by the so-called development that is going on. Wike is developing nowhere.

“What Wike is doing is to squander the scarce resources of Rivers people.

“Wike is senseless in doing this thing. What is the economic returns of the flyovers he is building on one single road?

“I have travelled all over the world, I have houses and properties in more than three countries.

“My children and family are scattered in Europe. I have travelled all over the world. I have seen things. What is happening here is senseless madness, building flyovers in one road, now he has gone to Ikwerre land to start building.

“After twenty years, what will be their value when decadence sets in. They are nothing but a waste of the resources of Rivers State. We must condemn it.

“It does not bring employment. How many Rivers people today have enough resources to buy cars. This money should have been invested in Rivers people.

“This money does not belong to Nyesom Wike”.
