A judgement delivered by a High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has declared null and void, the dethronement of the Amayanabo of Mini-Ama Community in Asari Toru Local Government Area of the state, Iboroma Bokubo, by some of his community members.

The Claimant, Amayanabo Iboroma Bokubo had instituted a suit against some members of the community praying the court to rule that his suspension and dethronement was done in error.

The presiding Judge, Justice O.S Benson ruled that the dethronement of the Claimant was done in error, as Defendants did not prove there was a general meeting held before the dethronement of the Claimant.

The court also held that the suspension of the Claimant as Amayanabo of Mini-Ama by the people led by Chief Probyn Eke stands as they have the right to suspend the king based on the alleged allegations against Claimant.

The judge issued an injunction against the Defendants restraining them from interfering in the activities of the Claimant, also restraining the Amayanabo from parading or performing the function of Amayanabo of Mini-Ama Community until the issue raised before the suspension are resolved.

Justice Benson ordered the people of the Community to go back home and resolve the issues.

Recall that the Amayanabo of Mini-Ama Community in Asari Toru Local Government Area of the state, Iboroma Bokubo was suspended by the people in 2012 on allegation of mismanagement of fund, refusal to render account to the people, writing of unwarranted petitions against sons and daughters of the community before being dethroned in 2015.
