Port Harcourt: Court throws out ex-guber candidate for refusing to pay rent

Mr Ashley Emenike, a former gubernatorial candidate in the 2007 gubernatorial election in Rivers State has been thrown out by a Rivers State Magistrate Court for refusing to pay rent since 2011.

The court also directed Mr Emenike, who lived in the duplex and boys quarter located at No 88 Obi Wali Road, Obio-Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State to pay the sum of 450, 000 per annum to his landlord, Mr John Egbejimba as mesne profit from May 2011 to May 2015, a five-year rent.

In a document sighted by theportcitynews.com, the court also forgave Mr Emenike from paying mesne profit from 2016 to 2020 except if the order of the court was not obeyed on or before 31st July 2020.

Mr Egbejimba had dragged Mr Emeineke before the magistrate court for refusing to vacate the building after his rent expired in 2011.
