Rivers United unveil jerseys for on-going NPFL season

Rivers United FC of Port Harcourt has officially unveiled their kits for the on-going 2019/20 Nigeria Professional Football League NPFL.

The kits were formally unveiled in a ceremony in Port Harcourt.

The Chief Finance Manager Eunisell, the sponsors of the jersey, Dipo Ogunbiyi during the unveiling ceremony said the move is a way of promoting football in Nigeria.

Dipo Ogunbiyi said Eunisell is passionate about Nigerian football and the professional clubs playing in professional football.

He added that football provides more than entertainment value and hope for many Nigerians and that is why they are supporting football as a way of giving back to society.

“It is a pleasure to be here again and to stand before you this evening to re-affirm our continued support for Rivers United, through Eunisell’s sponsorship of the team for the 2019/2020 season.

“It was five years ago when we took the business decision to sponsor the Port Harcourt team then called the Sharks and subsequently, Rivers United FC following the merger of the teams”.

“Our original rationale for the sponsorship of the club remains unchanged. Eunisell, like any Nigerian, is passionate about football-more so, we are passionate about Nigerian football, our own clubs playing in the professional league and of course the players” he said.

The General Manager of Rivers United FC, Okey Kpaluku said the club will compensate their sponsors with a continental ticket at the end of the season.

He said Rivers United is committed to becoming the best team in Nigeria and beyond.

In his address, NPFL Victor Ezeji said the on-going partnership will re-shape the face of football in Nigeria.

He also, appeal to other multinationals to invest in Nigerian football.

Our correspondent reports that the blue jerseys will be for homes games while the white jersey is for away games.
