Rivers United have won their first game of the on-going Nigeria Professional Football League season.
This follows their two one victory over visiting Enugu Rangers in match-day of the NPFL at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium, Elekahia, Port Harcourt.
Bamba Bakari opened the scoring for Rivers United in the 34 minutes via a penalty before Ibrahim Olawoyin levelled up for the Flying Antelopes in the 54th minute.
However, Malachi Ohawuma scored the winner in the 74th minute for the home side to give the team the three maximum points.
The win will now ease the pressure on the Technical Manager of the side Stanley Eguma.
With the victory Rivers United is now fifth on the NPFL table with nine points from four matches.
Speaking to newsmen after the game, Technical Adviser of Rivers United Stanley Eguma expressed happiness for picking his first three points of the season.

Eguma commended his wards for their display during the game.
In other results of the match-day 4 of NPFL, Akwa United played out a goalless draw against Katsina United at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
Jigawa Golden Stars pip former league champions Kano Pillars one-nil while Lobi Stars of Makurdi compounded the woes of Heartland FC of Owerri by beating them by three goals to nil.
Mountain of Fire Ministries, MFM FC was held to a one-all draw by Warri Wolves FC as Nasarawa United also played out a one-all draw against league leaders Plateau United.
In Akure, Sunshine Stars defeated league champions Enyimba FC of Aba by one goal to nil as Wikki Tourist of Bauchi thrashed Delta Force FC three one.
A total of five home wins and three away draws were witnessed in match-day four of the Nigeria Profession Football League NPFL.
