Ozoemene, Ibiyeomie others to speak at TEDx Port Harcourt

Organizers of TEDx Port Harcourt have promised to raise the bar high in the upcoming 2019 edition and have lined up some of the best Port Harcourt can offer in their chosen fields as speakers.

The event scheduled for November 16 at Port Harcourt City will bring the uniqueness of Port Harcourt with speakers sharing memories they have of themselves and their communities.

Among the speakers lined up for the one-day event is an “African finance specialist, amateur economist, an author of short stories, poet, playwright and a banker”, Dr Jekwu Ozomene.

Dr Ozoemene has over 20 years’ experience in banking and finance within which he has held various strategic positions such as; Senior Investment Officer at the FMO in The Hague; Managing Director/CEO of Access Bank Zambia, and Deputy Managing Director of Access Bank Rwanda.

He is currently the MD/CEO of Lyceum Alliance Limited (a pre-eminent management consulting firm) and a Netherlands Development Finance Company (FMO) Nominee Director on the board of Business Partners International East Africa LLC (BPI EA), a risk finance company that supports SME growth in sub-Saharan Africa.

He is an Honorary Senior Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers Nigeria (HCIB), an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (ACIB), and a Member Chartered Institute of Bankers Scotland (MCIBS).

Also billed to speak at the event is the Bonny-born Ogu-bolo native and General Overseer of Salvation Ministries, David Ibiyeomie.

Apart from his pastoral work, Ibiyeomie is involved in community service with a commitment to restoring hope and impacting the world.

His establishment, the David Ibiyeomie Foundation (DIF), providing much-needed aid to the less privileged in orphanages, prisons and at centres for the physically challenged through welfare schemes and programmes such as scholarships, skills acquisitions training and medical outreaches contribute massively to society.

Others are Diseye Tantua, the Vice President, Society of Nigerian Artist (South East) and a member of the Guild of Professional Fine Artists of Nigeria (GFA); Uji Terkuma, a Nigerian who is strongly passionate about solving problems with creative solutions and Chioma Agwuegbo, a media personality.
