Hunger: Man breaks into shop in Port Harcourt, steals biscuits, soft drinks

A 27-year-old man has been arrested in Port Harcourt for burglary and stealing.

The suspect identified as Destiny Asuquo, an indigene of Oron in Akwa/Ibom State was apprehended by a vigilante group at the Rumuodara area of Obi/Akpor local Government area.

Asuquo who was arrested on Thursday morning explained that he broke into a shop in the area to steal biscuits and soft drinks due to hunger.

Revelation Agents reports that the suspect who claimed to be a plumber said his friend whom he lives with is not aware he steals.

According to him: “I don’t make enough to feed myself. Things have been unbearably hard for me so I broke into the shop so I could get something to eat”

Theportcitynews gathered that another burglar, Nuhu Buhari was arrested in the area by the vigilante group on Tuesday for similar offence.

Destiny Asuquo has been handed over to Okporo Police Station in Rumuodara.
