Pam Drive Redefines Transport System In Port Harcourt

…Engages 1000 Taxi Drivers

By Kelechi Esogwa-Amadi

The mobility constraints usually encountered by residents of Port Harcourt, the Rivers State Capital, are now over as a transport logistics and taxi-booking company, Pam Drive Services Limited, is tackling the problems headlong, in what could be described as a redefinition of the transport system with its hitch-free rides.

In a chat with TPCN in Port Harcourt yesterday (Friday), the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Pam Drive Services Limited, Mr Ezieke Amaefula, said the company’s primary objective is to reduce the mobility challenges encountered by residents of Port Harcourt and Nigerians at large.

He said that for three years, the company has been delivering quality ride in Port Harcourt and her environs and hopes to keep improving and expanding the scope of its services.

On why he decided to go into this type of business, Mr Amaefula said: “Having experienced and enjoyed some of these services outside the country, coming back to Nigeria, there was no cab company. If you want to move from point A to point B, there was no cab company available. We studied the environment and were like ‘why is there no cab company in Port Harcourt?’

“The problem was that Port Harcourt had a security risk. There was too much traffic in the city; it’s a small city. Notwithstanding the problems, we still went ahead and started a cab company. We checked the system, the environment and a lot of things and the plan worked fine and we started the business. It has been working fine. Our head office is at Okporo Road, opposite Cocaine Village, no. 3 Nwankpa Close, one kilometer from Artillery Junction, by the right side.”

On Pam Drive’s expansion plans, Mr Amaefula said: “Right now, Pam Drive is the number one taxi-booking company in Port Harcourt. We have expanded to Enugu. Pam Drive is well-positioned to be the number one taxi booking company in Nigeria. We’re gonna be in all cities in Nigeria. That’s happening very soon.”

On Pam Drive Services mode of operation that has made it successful, the CEO said people are allowed to bring their cars, register with the company, operate under them and make their money without stress.

“Basically people bring their cars, register on the platform, drive and make money on their own. People also give us cars to manage; they bring their cars to our office to manage. At the end of the month, we give them good money. We take off the load, all the stress; we take it from them and then give them money at the end of the day,” he explained.

The Pam Drive Services Ltd boss, who said that the business has been rewarding, disclosed that the company has so far registered over one thousand drivers doing business with them on either part-time or full-time basis.

“It’s been rewarding and we have registered up to one thousand drivers on the platform. These are drivers who have been looking for full-time income, part-time income. People have been making money on the platform. Some even make up to N150,000 to N250,000 monthly. It all depends on the time you put in but it’s been a rewarding journey from Pam Drive. It’s so exciting and we’re growing and gonna expand to every state in Nigeria,” he said.

He encouraged people who are interested in the business to come and invest and make money without stress.

“We encourage Nigerians to come and do business with us. It’s a proudly Nigerian company –our own product, our own brand. Everything is proudly Nigerian now, so we want Nigerians to support us. Let’s do it together so that tomorrow we’ll leave a legacy for our children,” he said.
