What would you say if I told you that the designs in these pictures are from our very own designers here in Garden City?
Gone are the days when models, beauty queens, and fashionistas had to order their wears from top designers either from abroad or Lagos.
Here in Port Harcourt, our designers are changing the narrative by making bespoke, la mode and elegant outfits for any given occasion. There are outfits for the red carpet; for the queens and models, there are also outfits for work; whether you are the boss or not, there is an outfit for you, there is also outfits for brides; either for your white wedding reception dress or for your traditional attire, denim wears were not left out by the designers as we saw a combination of denim and Ankara materials.
At the Exhibition of the graduating students of House of BO fashion and design school GRA Port Harcourt, you would think that you are at the London fashion week. The cut edge designs and attention paid to details by these fashion graduates are topnotch.
There are the transformer dresses; these came in the form of gowns or jumpsuit with flowing detachable parts. Laces were the most common material used in almost all the designs. Tulle dresses were not left out.
The models that hit the runway did justice to the dresses as they sashayed from one point of the runway to the other leaving the audience with so much to reminisce on. These designers did not forget to include the plus-sized women in their designs. One particular plus-sized model got the audience reeling in laughter and amazement as she swung her.
The event was graced by Notable fashion lovers and beauty queens. The delectable Nollywood actor Ibinabo Fiberesima was there as she supports the designers with purchase of their designs. Port Harcourt’s Legendary Suni, thrilled the audience with amazing soul vibes.
Below are some of the designs from the event. Happy viewing!
