Family of slain Rivers APC chieftain yet to recover his severed head

An aggrieved family member of late IGNATIUS EPHRAIM-BARA who was killed and beheaded at Ajakajak Community in Andoni Local Government Area, during the February 23rd Presidential and National Assembly Elections in Rivers State has appealed to the state government and security agencies to ensure that the killers of late Bara are brought to book.

The family member who pleaded anonymity lamented that late BARA was murdered in broad daylight by some suspected thugs in the community, adding that family members of the victims have been under threat from the perpetrators of the act who are alleged to be protected by some authorities.

According to him, the body and the decapitated head are yet to be recovered by the family since three weeks ago, while demanding that the corpse of the deceased be released to the family for proper burial.

Reacting to the incident, Public Relation Officer Rivers state Police Command, Nnamdi Omoni, said since the sad incidence the command has been putting all effort to sure that the culprits are arrested and made to face justice.

He said further that Police officers have been deployed to the axis to comb the waterways and the mangrove in a bid to get information that may lead to the arrest of the killers.

The spokesman called on members of the community to assist the command on relevant information that will lead to the arrest of the culprit as well as the recovery of the body of Late Bara.

You would recall that Andoni Local Government Area of Rivers State was one of the local government that had the worst hit of election violence and killings with at least four deaths recorded on the day of Presidential and National Assembly elections in the state.
