Youths in Odegu community of Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State have sent a save our soul message to relevant authorities over mounting insecurity in the area.

Recall that an 18-seater bus was high-jacked by hoodlums around the community on Tuesday evening. The whereabouts of the occupants of the vehicle are yet unknown at present.

However, the youths in a statement on Wednesday called the growing insecurity in the area dishearting.

According to them: “The high rate of insecurity within the Odegu axis of Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State, is really disheartening, this criminality can never be justified and should be condemned by All.

“It will be recalled that a passenger bus was kidnapped at the same axis and also a robbery at the same road yesterday morning at Eveku area of the East-West road, leaving motorists stranded, all are at Emohua road.

“We are calling on All stakeholder and Security Agencies to do the needful in ensuring this criminality and cult war is tackled.

“We notice the presence of security personnel within these volatile areas but still wondering how these boys have their way each time they strike at the detriment of road users.

“The yuletide season is here and Our people Will come home, the Security Agencies should please redouble their effort in achieving safe environment for Our people.

“To the criminals operating within Odegu axis, We beg You to please shift your sword and leave Our area because We as People cannot watch to see how You terrorise Our people, bringing untold hardship, and giving Odegu people bad name while the companies operating here have given opportunity for Youths to have a meaningful life. Please have a rethink.

“Finally, we call on Gov. E N Wike and the Government of Rivers State to be man enough to withstand security issues just like the days of Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi AMAECHI, Former Governor, Rivers State”
