Solving security challenges in Ubima will solve 30% of security problems in Rivers State – Nwanosike

…..Challenges Amaechi to help tackle the security challenges in the area

Samuel Nwanosike, the Executive Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, has stated that solving the security challenges in Ubima Community of the Local Government Area will automatically reduce 30% of security problems in the State.

Nwanosike stated this at the council headquarters, Isiokpo, when he granted audience to the Royal Highness of Ubima Community, Eze Prince I. Williams, Ubima Council of chiefs and oha, the Community Development Committee (CDC) Chairman, Barr Mono Okonu, the DPO of Ubima Police Station, and some stakeholders of the community over the security challenges facing the community.

The council chair challenged former governor Chibuike Amaechi who is also the current Minister of Transportation, and a son of Ubima to assist him in tackling the situation, saying that the minister has all the connections to rescue his people from the situation.

The Chairman added that his administration brought a Police Station in Ubima and the presence of Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) in order to arrest the security problem.

He wondered why a community like Ubima which has a serving minister, two former governors, former speaker of the state house of assembly, former permanent secretary at the federal level and former local Government chairman should witness security challenges in their community.

While urging the Royal Highness to do everything within his power to draw the attention of Mr Chibuike Amaechi, Hon Nwanosike implored the sons of Ubima to rise to the situation and tame it.

However, the Executive Chairman asserted that he and his team have been working very hard to arrest the security problem in Ubima.

He vowed that they will provide every necessary thing that is required for the insecurity to be subdued.

Meanwhile, the CDC Chairman of Ubima, Barr Mono Okonu, had said that they have been trying in their own way to ensure that peace reigns in the community.

He made it known that his administration revamped the vigilante group by appointing Mr Emmanuel Ihejirika as the head and also formed a new youth body.

Barr Okonu added that the Royal Highness and CDC members provided offices for the police and SARS, and pleaded with the LGA Chairman to provide them with vehicles.
