As the Rivers All Progressive Congress crises linger with little hope in sight for an amicable settlement of the matter, the senator representing Rivers South-East constituency in the national assembly, Magnus Abe, has claimed that the former governor of Rivers State and current Minister of Transportation/Director General of the Buhari Campaign Organisation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, insulted him by telling him not to contest the governorship position of the state in the presence of his wife.

The Interview magazine reports that Abe said Amaechi’s actions may likely hurt the party badly in the forthcoming elections.

He accused the minister of single-handedly running the show in the state chapter of the party and does not consult widely.

According to Abe “My grievances with the transportation minister has nothing to do with him supporting me or not. I have told him clearly that he is free to support who he wants. My disagreement with him is that he said I should not run, and I said I would run.”

“To come to my house, call me in front of my wife and tell me not to try contesting was the height of it. I said no, I would not accept, I would contest.”
