Group launches campaign against vote-buying in Rivers State

As Nigeria enters the final lap towards the 2019 general elections, a Rivers state based non-governmental organization, Investors’ and Entrepreneurs Forum, has launched a campaign to sensitize the public against buying and selling of votes in different markets across the state.

The president of the group, Ibifuro Bobmanuel while sensitizing the traders urged them to shun all forms of electoral malpractices.

He noted that Nigeria can get even better and compete with other nations if votes buying is stopped.

According to him, “We are taking out time to go and sensitize them especially with the fact that the elections are around the corner.

“We are sensitizing our members and our affiliates to understand that we don’t have any interest in politics. We don’t play partisan politics.

“The only politics we play is politics that drive our businesses from one position to the next position.

“The politics we play is growth in our sectors. We’ve had this very fruitful meeting with them. We’ve heard all what they’ve said. we’ll take back what they’ve said and we’ll try and see how we’ll work with them to solve the issues”
