Crisis brewing in NYCN Rivers State Chapter, as Amb Chijioke Ihunwo gets suspended

There’s a crisis brewing in the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Rivers State Chapter as the acting Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Rivers State Chapter, Amb Chijioke Ihunwo has been suspended by the management committee of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, National Chapter under the leadership of Amb Sukubo Saraigbe.

Revealing his suspension to the press, the Rivers State Public relations officer of the NYCN, Adokiye Mujiton, said Amb Chijioke Ihunwo was suspended for flagrant disobedience of the NYCN Constitution by parading himself as the Acting Chairman of the Rivers State Chapter.

Adokiye Mujiton further advised Amb Chijioke Ihunwo to stop parading himself as the acting state Chairman of the NYCN and handover the council properties in his possession to the State Secretary to avoid facing the wrath of the law.

In a swift reaction, Amb Chijioke Ihunwo said his suspension by the Sukubo Saraigbe led NYCN National Chapter is laughable, as he is in no way the National Chairman, and said only the management committee led by Bello Shagari who’s the duly Elected Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria can suspend him.

He maintained that he will continue discharging his duties as acting Chairman of the Rivers State Chapter after taking over due to the resignation of Sukubo Saraigbe who left to contest for the Chairmanship position of the NYCN.
