Rivers State Attorney General: Power brokers already shopping for replacement – Gov’t house source

As the state is still reeling from the shock of the sudden demise of the Rivers State Attorney General and commissioner of justice, Barr Emmanuel Aguma on Friday, power brokers have begun shopping and scrambling for a possible and viable replacement.

Theportcitynews gathered from a reliable source within the Brick House that the death of the respectable attorney general left a big void in the cabinet of governor Wike as it will be impossible to find a credible replacement in the league of the deceased in terms of knowledge, character and temperament.

According to the source, the late attorney general was part of the state’s legal team that ensured that Governor Wike emerge victorious at the tribunal and has ensured that the governor sticks to the law in all his actions.

“His opinions were regularly sought especially on the issues of government policies. He was part of those who ensured that the government threaded with caution on the issues of the neighbourhood watch and the dissolution of the local government excos elected during the twilight of Amaechi’s tenure”

“As it stands now, his death dealt a heavy blow to the administration of Governor Wike, although Governor Wike’s inner circles have begun searching for someone with such vast knowledge and integrity”

The Rivers State Attorney General died on Friday in a London hospital, although the cause of his death has not yet been made public as the Rivers State Government is yet to issue an official statement in that regard.
