Choba: Court remands man in Degema prison for rape

A thirty-eight-year-old DICKSON CHIBUZOR ELIMA has been remanded in Degema Prison on a three-count charge of assault, beating and rape of two women.

The three-count charges include an allegation of using his fingers on the private part of a lady identified as ESTHER ISAAC and another aged woman identified as VICTORIA EMMANUEL who he allegedly beat up before using the finger on her.

The suspect was arrested in 2017 and has been in custody since November 2017 when he was first brought before a Magistrate Court sitting in Choba.

The suspect is alleged to have committed the act around Ali-Agu farm area within Choba community in Obio-Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.

After listening to the charges, the suspect, however, admitted to the crime but told the court that he was injected by unknown gunmen who took him away from his residential apartment within Nkpolu community in Obio-Akpor Port Harcourt.

Chief Magistrate, ISREAL AGBASOR thereafter ordered the suspect to be remanded in prison and adjourned till 21St of August 2018 for ruling on the bail.
