Port Harcourt Drivers react over delay in driver’s license registration

Some motorists in Port Harcourt have attributed their inability of getting driver’s licenses to the high-cost of the license registration and bottlenecks in its issuance.

According to them, driver’s license which used to be affordable at 5000 Naira has increased to 20, 000 Naira, making it difficult for low-income earners to get.

Some respondents who spoke to theportcitynews.com correspondent, Tina Amamda, complained that the driver’s license is very important to have due to the level of embarrassment and disturbance they face every day from police officers.

They appealed to the Federal Road Safety Corp to consider the harsh economic situation in the country and reduce the price.

Other respondents who have registered and are yet to collect their driver’s license blamed Road Safety for the delay in process of registration.

They explained further that Road safety is unable to provide the driver’s license after they have paid for the registration fee and undergo the capturing process, yet they can’t get the license in months.
