Rivers CP lauds IGP for improvement of officers’ welfare

The Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Zaki Ahmed, has lauded the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, for the improvement of welfare of officers. CP Zaki stressed that salaries of police officers are paid as at when due since the IGP resumed office.

CP Zaki made the commendation on Saturday, while speaking to newsmen in Port Harcourt, on the successful commitment of the IGP in tackling crime and criminality in the nation.

The CP stressed that the visionary commitment of the IGP has aided in the tackling of killings and other cult related crimes in the State.

Zaki noted that the success recorded in crime fighting in the state was as a result of the establishment of IGP Intelligence Response team and Monitoring units in the state, adding that the formations have yielded positive results in the state.

He said that the attention given to the welfare and salaries of police officers has given them motivation to fight crime and guided them against corruption, stressing that killings and kidnapping have been brought under control in the state.

Zaki said the Inspector General of Police since assumption of duty has shown an unequalled and unparalleled commitment towards fighting crime in the country and has repositioned the force to be the envy of all.

“There is IGP monitoring team and Intelligence Response Team in all the commands which are helping to fight crime in the country. All these have helped to tackle crime in the state.

” The IGP has given due attention to the welfare of men and officers of police force. He has introduced housing schemes to resolve the housing problem among officers. All police officers will soon own their own houses” he said!

On the issue of promotion, he added that all officers due for promotion have received it. “There is good salaries and we are being paid as at when due” CP Zaki noted.
