Ijaws should forget about Rivers 2019 Governorship position – Tonye Adoki Smart

Member representing PHALGA constituency II at the Rivers State House of Assembly has called on politicians of Ijaw ethnic extraction in Rivers state seeking to contest the 2019 governorship Election to Jettison there ambition.

Smart Adoki, who spoke to the press in Port Harcourt shortly after his arrival from Bonny Local government where he presented Governor Nyesom Wike’s scorecard of achievement to the chiefs and Amanayabo of grand Bonny Kingdom, said the call became imperative following Governor Wike’s performances which he said cut across the entire Local Governments of the state.

“To us as Ijaws or the riverines, what is important is development across the local governments, where we the Ijaws occupy in the state.

“The present governor today, Barrister Nyesom Wike, who people will say is not an Ijaw man, but if you ask me I will say to you is an Ijaw man, the question for him will be; has he gotten it right?.

“Of course we all know he has gotten it right. He has gotten it right because he has moved development across all the local governments where the Ijaw’s reside.

“To us we feel it’s important to give this man all the support to make him come back, instead of this clamoring ‘it’s turn for Ijaws to be Governor’.
