A banker, Mr. David Uyiri, has asked the Choba Customary Court in Rivers State to dissolve his 22-year-old marriage with his wife, Olunwo, over her infidelity.
Mr. Uyiri petitioned the court on Wednesday and sought the dissolution of the marriage on grounds that his wife was having affair with different men and always quarreled with neighbors.
Uyiri, 52, who lives at Rumuokwuta , told the court that the marriage has become a source of a nightmare as women whom his wife sleeps with their husbands have turned their home into a sort of battle of battleground.
“My wife sleeps with different men. She can sleep with even a spirit. It gives her joy. I have not had sex with her in 5 years. Each time I try to get her attention, she talks to me like a stranger but she runs around other men
“I have tried correcting her. I have reported her to her family and they have done their bit but she seems to be increasing in her dubious attitude.
“The worst is that different women come to fight her in my home, asking her to leave their husbands alone.
” I am tired of watching my children see other women come to fight their mother in our home. Other children now make fun of them because of their mother’s attitude.
“I have asked her to move away and rent a house for herself and her thriving business but she has refused.
“I am afraid that she or her numerous men friends will kill me and turn my children into destitute”
Mr. Uyiri therefore, prayed the court to dissolve the marriage and award the custody of their 5 children to him.
