National President of Independent petroleum marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Mr. Obasi Lawson, has warned Mr. Chinedu Okoronkwo to stop parading himself and impersonating to the public as the national president of the association.

Addressing newsmen, the chief of staff IPMAN, chinedu Ukadike who represented the national president said Okoronkwo should stop impersonating as the national president and declared null and void the 19 member committee constituted by the impostor.

According to the IPMAN president, the activities of Chinedu Okoronkwo in the association is capable of derailing the association, cause friction and give rise to communal conflict between ethnic groups in the area.

“The letter that was written on his purported caretaker committee in Portharcourt refinery unit is a total mischief, an attempt to cause hardship to marketers and subvert attention of independent marketers in Rivers state.

‘’His intention is to cause security breach at the IPMAN Portharcourt refinery and ignite communal war in the state. Rivers people are peace loving, and I call on security agencies to move in and avert the impending crisis that this young man want to cause.”

The incumbent president added that there is an outstanding court case on the claims of Mr Okoronkwo.

“The honourable attorney has advised him to allow the supreme court rule over the matter. The Inspector General of police has also advised him to be law abiding and stop writing unnecessary frivolous letter that will lead to crisis or unrest in the state.”

IPMAN president also said that the current state chairman of the association, Emmanuel Inimgba was duly elected and sworn in as the head of IPMAN PHC refinery unit, while elder Emmanuel Ihedikpo remains chairman of the IPMAN elders’ forum.

He further advised marketers in the state to go about their legitimate duties and neglect all insinuations by Chinedu Okoronkwo and his cohorts.
