They make above 30, 000 weekly fishing in slums.

Scavengers of Northern origin have taken over fishing activities in Portharcourt.

The boys who came with their fishing nets rummaged slums within the city, carting away fishes in their numbers while the locals looked on.

TPCN City lifestyle visited the Rumuola-Stadium Road link road, one of the locations that the fishing activity took place on Thursday (February 1st) and observed several bags of fishes caught by the unusual fishermen.

One will marvel at the ingenuity of the Hausa boys and their ability to navigate through these slums that the locals won’t dare get into and fish in them with ease, with locals saying that they weren’t even aware that there were fishes in those slums.

When TPCN asked for the price for one fish, the “Aboki” as they are called, said “2000”

Upon further enquiries, TPCN observed that they make #30, 000 and above engaging in these unusual fishing activities.
