RSG Pledges Support to Boost Niger Delta Economy

In line with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda, the Rivers State Government (RSG) has pledged support to boost the Niger Delta region and the Rivers State economy.

This initiative aims to improve, empower, and strengthen Niger Delta people, especially the youth financially.

Governor Siminalayi Fubara said this while hosting the Minister of the Niger Delta Development, Engr. Abubakar Momoh, on Thursday at the Government House in Port Harcourt.

Rivers State Deputy Governor, Prof. Ngozi Odu, represented Governor Fubara, and he highlighted the significance of empowerment and its reward, which align with the Renewed Hope agenda.

In his speech, he said the ministry planned to host another Economic Summit in November 2024 targeting development.

He said River State is a home for business with a conducive environment.

Governor Fubara said, “I want to thank you for recognising the antecedents of the Rivers State Government in taking seriously things that will turn around the economic development of not only Rivers State but the entire region.”

Responding to the Governor Fubara speech, on behalf of the Minister of Niger Delta Development, Dr. Jesam Oarhe, the Head of Administration in the Ministry of Niger Delta, explained the function and mandate of the Ministry, which focus on empowerment and development of the region.

Speaking further, the Minister said they will partner with RSG to plan towards the forthcoming sumit to be held in November 2024.

He further thanked Governor Fubara for his positive impact in the state, which aligns with the core mandate of the Niger Delta Ministry.
