Late Obasi family Seeks Justice, Calls for Apprehension of Killers in Port Harcourt

After one year, the late Henry Obasi family, who was allegedly murdered by a yet-to-be-identified gang member in Port Harcourt, seeks the apprehension and prosecution of his killers.

The alleged crime was said to have occurred on September 20, 2023, at Iwofe Road, near Saint John’s Catholic Church, at approximately 9:20.

The family described their brother’s death, which occurred last year, as ‘a senseless act of violence,” while his killer is living among humans.

According to an eyewitness from The Trumpet report, acknowledge that the ugly incident occurred when the deceased was on his way home after the closure of work. Alleged that he was trailed and shot, and the security force evacuated his body.

A source who pleaded anonymity disclosed the deceased and his elder brother, Solomon Obasi, had received threats from an unknown deadly gang months before the incident occurred.

After the assault that was pulled from a gang that almost took the life of the deceased elder brother, Obasi relocated to another city.

The source alleged that the same deadly gang who assaulted Solomon Abasi might be responsible for the death of his younger brother, and the source suggested that the death of his younger brother might have been a mistake of identity.

The source said, “Henry was a gentle soul and a good worker. Everyone loved him at our workplace. He didn’t deserve to die like this.”

Rivers State Police Command has confirmed the incident, as action will be taken and an investigation is ongoing to arrest the perpetrators and be prosecuted according to law.
