Port Harcourt Benefits as Atlas Core Boosts Clean Mobility

Atlas Core Energy and Logistics, an emerging leader in Nigeria’s clean energy sector, has officially rolled out its Fleet Conversion and Clean Mobility Strategy. This ambitious initiative is designed to revolutionize high-density logistics hubs and urban transport networks nationwide, accelerating the shift from fossil fuels to cleaner alternatives like compressed natural gas (CNG), electric, and hybrid technologies.

Owoade Emmanuel, CEO of Atlas Core Energy and Logistics and a UK-trained energy strategist, underscored the strategic importance of this launch. “The time for slogans is over — it’s time to build the systems that power change,” Emmanuel stated. He highlighted the interconnectedness of Nigeria’s logistics and energy sectors, emphasizing the critical need for infrastructure development to support sustainable transitions.

The program’s rollout includes establishing CNG conversion hubs and service centers along major transport corridors, with particular focus on industrial and economic hotspots like Port Harcourt. As a critical logistics and commercial hub—and gateway to the Niger Delta—Port Harcourt stands to gain significantly from this shift toward cleaner energy.

Atlas Core is collaborating with fleet operators and logistics companies to ensure the transition is both economically viable and operationally seamless. Businesses in Port Harcourt—especially those tied to oil and gas, manufacturing, and trade—could see lower operational costs thanks to more affordable, sustainable fuel options. The initiative also aims to work with policymakers and tech innovators to create a supportive ecosystem for clean energy adoption in Rivers State.

For Port Harcourt’s residents, the benefits go beyond economics. Widespread adoption of CNG and electric vehicles could lead to a noticeable drop in air pollution, a pressing issue in a city with heavy industrial activity and traffic congestion. Cleaner air means better public health outcomes and an improved quality of life.

Additionally, the new conversion hubs and service centers are expected to generate local employment opportunities, from skilled technicians handling vehicle conversions to support staff managing energy infrastructure. This aligns with Nigeria’s broader strategy to utilize its vast gas reserves for domestic energy needs, reducing reliance on imported fuels while boosting economic resilience.

Atlas Core’s launch represents a major milestone in its mission to become a cornerstone of Nigeria’s clean energy future. By focusing on practical, scalable infrastructure, the company is laying the groundwork for lasting change—with cities like Port Harcourt at the forefront of this transformation.
