Chelsea Confirms First New Signing Since Window Opened

Chelsea has officially announced their first signing of the summer transfer window, and it is not Liam Delap from Ipswich Town.

This update follows Chelsea’s victory over Real Betis in the Conference League on Wednesday night, where they came back from a goal down at halftime.

The Blues ultimately won the match 4-1, thanks to a standout performance from Cole Palmer in the second half, who provided two excellent assists for his teammates to score important goals.

Despite this success, head coach Enzo Maresca is cautious, stating that Chelsea’s goal for next season is not to win the Champions League!

Fans have been eagerly awaiting the official announcement of Liam Delap’s signing from Ipswich Town, but it has not yet been made at the time of writing.

Delap’s announcement is expected soon, although it was anticipated to happen yesterday. Nevertheless, Chelsea did confirm one new signing yesterday.

According to the Chelsea website, on Monday night, the club signed Dario Essugo from Sporting CP.

The midfielder, who spent last season on loan at Las Palmas in La Liga and is a Portugal Under-21 international, has signed a contract that runs until 2033.

At just 20 years old, Essugo has been compared to Moises Caicedo, who has been a key player for Chelsea this season.

It seems he will be joining Enzo Maresca’s squad for next season, providing depth in the midfield as Chelsea prepares for Champions League football.
