JAMB Changes Commencement Date for 2025 UTME

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced a revision to the commencement date of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

According to a statement released by JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Fabian Benjamin, the examination will now commence on Thursday, April 24, 2025. The original date was Friday, April 25, 2025.

The statement, shared on the Board’s official X handle, attributed the change to “essential commitments by the board and its partner agencies in preparation for the examination, JAMB has also announced the availability of Notification Slips for prospective candidates.

These slips contain critical information, including the examination date, venue (centre), time, and other relevant instructions. Candidates were advised to begin printing their Notification Slips starting Saturday, April 19, 2025. JAMB emphasizes that early printing will allow candidates sufficient time to make logistical arrangements and locate their assigned examination centers within their chosen examination towns.

The statement outlines the procedure for printing the slips. Visit www.jamb.gov.ng, and click on ‘2025 UTME Slip Printing.’ Enter your registration number and click on ‘Print Examination Slip’.JAMB has strongly urged candidates to visit their assigned centers in advance of the examination date.

The Board has reiterated its policy that no candidate will be posted to an examination center outside of their selected examination town. This change affects all candidates across Nigeria, including those in Rivers State.

Prospective candidates from Rivers State who have registered for the 2025 UTME are advised to take note of the new commencement date of Thursday, April 24, 2025, and to print their Notification Slips as soon as possible from the JAMB website. They should also ensure they are familiar with the location of their assigned examination centers within Rivers State.
