Armed Assailants Raid Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s Family Home in Kogi State.

In a brazen attack, gunmen stormed the family residence of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, located in Obeiba-Ihima, Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi State. The assault, which occurred in the early hours of Tuesday around 1:00 a.m., involved at least three armed intruders wielding guns and cutlasses. The attackers caused significant damage to the property, including smashing window panes and vandalising other parts of the home.

Counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama reported the incident via his X account on Thursday, shedding light on the violent intrusion. According to sources, the Senator’s Chief Security Officer, Yakubu Ovanja, promptly notified security authorities, who are now investigating the attack. No further details have been released regarding the motive behind the assault or whether anyone was injured during the incident.

This alarming breach has raised concerns about the safety of public officials like Natasha and their families in the region, prompting calls for heightened security measures.

A quick-response unit from the Okehi Police Division promptly arrived at the scene, but no injuries were reported, and no suspects were apprehended. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the motive behind the attack, which remains uncertain.

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, has not yet issued a public statement regarding the incident.
