Bambam Opens Up About Life-Threatening Childbirth Experience

Nigerian reality TV star and actress Bamike Olawunmi, popularly known as Bambam, has shared the harrowing ordeal she faced while giving birth to her first child. During a recent episode of the *Me & My Girls* podcast, she revealed how severe complications nearly resulted in a stillbirth.

Reflecting on the traumatic experience, Bambam disclosed that her kidney failed, and multiple vital organs began to shut down during labour in 2020. Her daughter, Zendaya, had detached from the placenta, putting both their lives at risk.

She also highlighted the issue of medical negligence, emphasizing that many stillbirths occur due to healthcare professionals failing to act swiftly or effectively.

Bambam admitted that the experience left her struggling with lingering fears and “what ifs,” which haunted her for a long time. However, she eventually turned to therapy, allowing her to shift her focus toward gratitude rather than fear.
