The people of the Isiokpo community in the Ikwerre local government area of Rivers State, have thrown their full weight behind Governor Siminalayi Fubara ahead of the 2027 elections, citing his commitment to governance and recent political appointments that have favored their sons and daughters.

Speaking at a gathering organized to celebrate the appointment of their kinsman, Prince Obiandu Ohochukwu as a Commissioner in the Rivers State Local Government Civil Service Commission, community leaders and stakeholders expressed their gratitude and pledged their unwavering support for the Fubara-led administration.

Comrade Agba Timothy, Secretary Simplified Movement Isiokpo Ward 2, praised the governor for his inclusive leadership and dedication to the welfare of Rivers people. He described the appointment as a clear testament to the governor’s commitment to rewarding loyalty and competence.

“We have gathered here today to receive our brother, whom the governor has just appointed as a commissioner. This is a great honour to us, and we are here to encourage him, pray for him, and assure him of our full support.

“Also, we use this opportunity to show appreciation to the governor for recognizing our community. The Fubara government is wonderful. It is working tirelessly and ensuring that the dividends of democracy reach the people.

“We are seeing positive changes, and we stand with the governor now and in 2027,” Timothy stated.

Another community stakeholder, Friday Job, Chairman of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Ward 2 Isiokpo echoed a similar accolade.

Prince Obiandu Ohochukwu, the newly appointed Commissioner of Rivers State Local Government Civil Service Commission and a prominent leader in Isiokpo emphasized the strong ties between the community and Governor Fubara, noting that beyond politics, the governor is regarded as part of the family.

“I and my community are happy. My people love and believe in the governor, we should support him in all his endeavors. He is our in-law, and by appointing me, he has shown that he values our relationship.

“Governor Fubara is doing well, and we are fully behind him,” he said.

With growing political goodwill, Isiokpo leaders have vowed to mobilize support for Governor Fubara in the next election. They believe that his administration has so far demonstrated a commitment to development, inclusiveness, and judicious management of state resources.

The event ended with a special prayer session for the newly appointed commissioner, Governor Fubara, and the continued progress of Rivers State.
