Newlywed Bride Allegedly Attacks Husband in Kaduna, Tries to Sever Manhood

A 40-year-old commercial motorcycle rider, Salisu Idris, is still reeling from shock after his new wife, Habiba Ibrahim, allegedly tried to cut off his manhood while he was asleep.

The incident occurred in Kudan, Kaduna state. According to Idris, it happened on May 26, just after he had returned from his early morning prayers.

Idris recounted that he was resting in bed when his wife suddenly attacked him with a sharp knife. His desperate cries for help drew the attention of neighbors, who quickly came to his rescue, likely saving his life.

The couple had been married for only four months, and Idris expressed his bewilderment over the attack, emphasizing that they had been in love and had no prior conflicts.

After the assault, Idris was rushed to a local hospital in Kudan. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was referred to the General Hospital in Makarfi and later transferred to the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital in Zaria. Doctors there are currently working to stabilize his condition.

Habiba Ibrahim is now in police custody as investigations are underway to determine the motive behind her grievous actions.

“At the moment, my primary concern is my health. This incident has made me fearful of the idea of remarrying,” Idris stated.
His mother, Rabi Salisu, who is caring for him at the hospital, mentioned that although they did not live in the same household, he had never complained about his wife to her.

“Her parents are also distressed and have offered to cover his medical expenses,” she added.
