Unemployment, poverty, major causes of crime in Rivers – ADP guber candidate

Victor Fingesi, the Governorship candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) in Rivers State, has decried the surge in the number of unemployed youths in the state, which he said is the main cause of insecurity in the state.

Fingesi made the statement on Friday at his unvieling as the Rivers ADP guber candidate by the State party chairman, Kendrick Christian.

According to him, poverty is the major problem in the state, which he said is the reason for increased reate in crime and insecurity.

The guber candidate, who carpeted the current administration, said the state has over 188,590 out of school children due to poor leadership.

He, however, stated that if elected into office, his administration will invest 25 percent of the state budget in education at all levels of the society, including technical, formal and vocational forms of education.

“At the Action Democratic Party, we want to give Rivers people the opportunity to choose their leaders for themselves, and we are willing by all means to rebuild a government where Rivers people are stakeholders.”

“We will invest in the education of our people at all levels of the society, in tech, formal and vocational forms of education with 25 percent of the state budget.

“Our administration will turn out youths into globally competitive force and we will harness their full potentials in rebuilding Rivers State,” he added.
