Police nab two suspected armed robbers in Bayelsa

The Bayelsa State Police Command says it has arrested two suspected armed robbers in Yenegoa, the state capital.

It was gathered that the suspects are part of a notorious gang that has been terrorising Yenagoa and its environs.

A statement signed by the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Asinim Butswat, said the suspects were apprehended at the Isaac Boro Express Way during a stop and search operation.

Butswat said a Barretta pistol was recovered from the suspects during the operation.

“The suspects; one Zion Kientei ‘m’ 28 years and one Solomon Deizigha ‘m’ 29 years were arrested inside a tricycle with MOT Number 7501, during a stop and search operations at the Isaac Boro Express Way, Yenagoa, on 22 May 2022 at about 2140 hours,” he said.

He noted that the investigation has commenced and the suspects will be charged to court at the conclusion of the investigation.
