Aide accuses Kingsley Chinda of allegedly opposing move to release Farah Dagogo

An aide to the Member representing Degema/Bonny Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, Farah Dagogo, has accused Kingsley Chinda, a lawmaker representing Obio/Akpor Constituency of opposing the release of his detained principal.

Farah, who is also a Rivers governorship aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was arrested a week ago on the order of Governor Nyesom Wike for allegedly sponsoring the disruption of the screening process of House of Assembly aspirants at the PDP secretariat in the State.

In a statement on Thursday, Farah’s aide, Ibrahim Lawal accused Chinda of opposing the motion moved by another member of the green chamber, Chisom Promise Dike on the “unjust arrest, detention, and arraignment of his colleague and fellow Rivers brother, Hon. Doctor Farah Dagogo.”

According to the statement, “Yesterday, an illustrious son of Rivers State and a member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Chisom Promise Dike, moved a motion of urgent public importance on the floor of the House centered on the unjust arrest, detention, and arraignment of his colleague and fellow Rivers brother, Hon. Doctor Farah Dagogo through the unlawful orders of Governor Nyesom Wike. He wants the House to urgently intervene as the whole issue was politically motivated.

“Regrettably, opposition to that noble move and laudable approach was led by the Rivers State PDP caucus led by Hon. Kingsley Chinda!

“This is shocking to me, considering that just as recent as December 22, 2020, when the House of Representatives threatened to sanction Hon. Kingsley Chinda, the so-called Rivers State PDP caucus, he claimed to be heading and his political godfather whom he is desperately trying to please, all abandoned him to his fate. Only Hon. Doctor Farah Dagogo stood up for him and defended him.

“Yes, only Hon. Doctor Farah Dagogo came out to support him and Hon. Kingsley Chindah acknowledged that when he called him on the phone. He said he was overwhelmed and will not forget that very kind gesture as it was only Hon. Doctor Farah Dagogo that stood for him and came to his defence. He thanked him profusely.

“Hon. Doctor Farah Dagogo did that because he believed what they planned on doing to Hon. Kingsley Chinda was not right and he could not fold his arm and allowed his Rivers State brother be treated in such manner. That is Hon. Doctor Farah Dagogo for you.

“Everything should not be about politics. The humanity in us need not be traded on the alter of blind repulsive loyalty. Our conscience and posterity will continue to judge us.”
